According to ayurveda, fibroids are growths in mamsa dhatu of the uterus. According to ancient texts, mamsarbuda means growth in muscles and connective tissue. Uterine fibroids are considered mostly a kapha-dominant disorder, but often involve pitta and vata displacements are also present.
